Boxing Therapy

The Science Behind the Magic

What is it?

Boxing Therapy offers a trauma-sensitive, movement-based approach to mental health care. Our method blends elements from somatic therapy, DBT, EMDR principles, and Krav Maga, allowing clients to engage their nervous systems, release held tension, and build resilience, right in the therapy room.

This is not about learning to fight, it’s about learning to feel.
Through the physicality of boxing and the safety of a therapeutic container, clients learn to reconnect with their bodies, understand emotional responses, and access tools for regulation, mindfulness, and healing.

Developed over the past decade, our research-informed method is practiced by licensed mental health professionals, social workers, and trained coaches both in Israel and internationally. We are committed to offering an inclusive, supportive space where movement and mental health come together, for real impact.

Whether you're working through trauma, navigating emotional challenges, or simply looking for a new way to access strength and self-awareness, Boxing Therapy offers a path forward, one breath, one step, one punch at a time.

The Ready for Anything,
Boxing Therapy Story

When an Israel based Social Worker and Krav Maga coach teamed up with a visionary Social Worker who dared to make a difference in Florida, US, the end result was Ready For Anything, Boxing Therapy.

Boxing Therapy was founded in Israel in 2018, after an American born, social worker and personal trainer began integrating self defense techniques for her clients who had been through traumas.  Since then, the modality has been developed to treat individuals and groups suffering from a variety of mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, ADHD, Spectrum disorder and emotional regulation issues.  The therapists come from backgrounds in mental health, personal training and self defense disciplines.  The therapy is a safe space, where consent and the clients unique strengths are not only invited, but at the core of the treatment.

Boxing Therapy Basics

1

Stress and Fitness Responses:

During boxing, you are engaged in the fitness response which can feel similar to the stress response - fast heart rate, hard breathing, focus shifts, etc. With the guidance of a Boxing Therapy Coach, you will learn to recognize this experience of the fight, flight, and freeze response in the body and develop new coping mechanisms for stress.

2

Your Brain During Boxing Therapy:

Bilateral Stimulation, a therapeutic technique in which we alternate
using both sides of your body, and therefore brain, to help you process traumatic memories and/or intense emotions. We activate this by boxing with alternating hands. During this punching, the left and right sides of the brain are activated, allowing for the facilitation of the reprocessing of intense memories with more emotional regulation.

3

Client-Centered Approach:

Boxing Therapy strategies empower and celebrate your physical strength, no matter your current fitness level! Every session is tailored specifically to the needs and goals of the client or community. We work with children, adolescents, and adults in individual and group settings.
